The Create New Username and Password form is displayed when you click a login link that was sent to you via email. You can use this form to set a new username, but this is optional. The one task you must perform here is to enter a new password for yourself. Once you have created your new password, use your username and password to log into the Members Area of your organization's web site.
Back to topCreate your password by entering it in the provided fields. You must enter the exact same text twice. Most sites obscure passwords to protect your privacy, so you won't be able to tell if you entered it exactly the same in both boxes. Don't worry: a message will be displayed if it isn't entered the same so you can reenter your password. It's best to reenter it in both boxes.
For a more secure password, make your password a combination of letters and numbers that is at least 8 characters long and does not contain these characters: #, @, ?, |, /. Avoid dictionary words, your name, email address, and passwords you use for another site. Its a good idea to change your password on a regular basis. .
A username is assigned to you by default. Many people keep their pre-assigned username, since it is a simple and straightforward concatination of your first and last name. If you want to create a personalized username, you may do so now. It must be at least 4 characters long, and cannot be more than 20 characters long. You may use a nickname or other memorable moniker, but be sure it represents you as you'd like others to view you, since you username is displayed to the organization membership in email, etc. Certain characters are disallowed (i.e., ?#"'|/) for security reasons.
Click Save to create your new password and username. Once your new username and password are saved, you can log into the protected areas of the web site. Click 'Login to Members Area' to get a pop-up box. Type your new username and password into the pop-up box to log in and begin enjoying the membership benefits provided through your organization's web site.
