The SPC defines three types of membership:
- Full Membership
- Full members are eligible to appoint a director to the Board of Directors, are provided full access to all SPC-internal documents, including the members-only section of the SPC web site. Full members may participate in all SPC meetings, vote on SPC motions (including the refinement and adoption of benchmark specifications), and serve on technical and standing committees within the SPC.
- Associate Membership
- Associate members are provided full access to all SPC-internal documents, including the members-only section of the SPC web site. Associate members may only attend SPC meetings or participate in technical subcommittee discussions after approval of a formal request for meeting attendance and/or technical subcommittee participation. Associate members are not allowed to vote on any SPC motions.
- Academic Membership
- An appropriate faculty or academic department member at an accredited academic institutions is eligible to apply for academic membership. Academic member organizations are awarded the same rights as Associate members.
